It's really not. Photoshop is one of the easiest things to use. Why limit yourself to a program with less then half the features and torture yourself later when you have to switch a new program with the features you need.

I agree with this. It's not hard to understand the basics of Photoshop, and it's extremely easy to acquire. Also, there's tons of these explanatory diagrams to help you draw pony anatomy out there.

And for drawing tablets, I recommend the Wacom Splash. I bought it and used it as a mouse for over a year before I upgraded to a more expensive model. It's like 60 bucks off Amazon.

I disagree I think when starting you should expriment with everything until you find what you like to use and learn to use it well.

Had drank a few too many while my cousin drove home. Got stopped and I was arrested for underage drinking and possession of alcohol.

Thank god my cousin got a slap on the wrist, but I ended up serving 2 months because of a mix up.

in my late teens I got thrown in the drunk tank a few times but never charged with anything.
Best time was when some guy in the cell across from me kept yelling for like 5 hours and the cops eventually donned riot gear, a gas mask and busted in and peppersprayed the shit out of him.
I got to watch the whole thing because they left the latch on my cell window open.
It was promptly slammed after I started cheering.

That's funny, but yeah someone screwed up and labeled me as having possessed cocaine in their system, so I was sent to jail because lol felonies. I missed a month of school, my birthday, and then it took even longer for them to actually find out I was never charged with possession of coke and drop it.

That's why I feel god awful for Mosina and Anon. I'd hate for anyone to go through the amount of frustration and depression I did during those times.

At first I thought they'd realize their mistake, but after the first month I gave up hope and stuck out another month wondering if staying there was even worth it before I had my parents post bond for me.

after 6 months yeah, but then to cover their mistakes they drug my case out about the alcohol possession (not that my loser father spouting, about me being an awful child while I grew up, helped matters any) All in all it took me about from July 2008 to December 2010 to get everything straightened out and actually start my probation.

A word of advice, Anon. Make sure you get a competent lawyer that cares about you, and if you don't and get an incompetent one, fire him the second he does something stupid.

The only time I've heard that argument is from trolls (I call them trolls because they had no other point to make, were immovable on their opinion and clearly were not interested in a discussion but just wanted to repeat something over and over until they were satisfied with the reaction they had received) because if you argue that which has no basis other than "we haven't seen them outside of this one episode" then you might as well say it for a lot of other things in the series. Plus, it's a lot more interesting to assume that they are a subspecies since it opens up more routes for expanding the world of FiM.

And as for unicorns, there's always the bartender in this picture. I agree though, trying to hold people to other's headcanons is stupid given that as you mentioned, everything in this thread centers around OCs made to resemble a couple of guard ponies who appeared for a few seconds in one episode and then more recently, in the comic.

I choose to think it's more likely that they are their own subspecies. I don't find the possibility of it being a costume or enchanted armor to be pleasing or one with much basis. If people are going to assume that it's just an effect of wearing magic armor you could just bring that argument further down its logical route and say something like the princesses are just normal ponies that wear magical jewellery that change their appearance.

The possibilities that a new and such a different subspecies bring to the table for worldbuilding are huge and I can't imagine people just wanting to handwave it away so quickly.

Because this is just a hobby for me and I think it's nice practice and I honestly don't have enough time to set down and do something great, because I have a job and classes and debts and not everything revolves around /mlp/ for me. You write stories or draw pictures that make your character seem cute/cool/bro-ish/whatever and they visit you like some sorta fairy spreading happiness and bats where ever they go. You can't just expect them to do it for you if your character is underdeveloped, so write some stories/draw something who cares if it sucks, as long as you put effort into it and make the character genuinely enjoyable, you'll get art eventually.
